Our First Swim

Today we went swimming for the first time. Well, kind of. Kiki, Jr, Lexus, Char, Baby J and Dunkle Erik (Kiki's way of saying Uncle Derek) went swimming. I stayed out & took pictures. I must say, it's the better way to go swimming these days. Especially when you're tired. When I went shopping to get some swim diapers for Baby J, I wasn't really paying attention & got the size M that was for 11-15 kg. Did you know that means 24-35 or so lbs? Yeah, it says so right on the package. Did I notice that though? Nahh... I just saw the 11-15 and thought PERFECT. Duh Jamie. No 6 week old child is going to be a size M. Well, maybe if they were 15 lbs at birth.
I shudder at the thought.
We started out the experience with crying.
Followed by more crying.
Followed by getting into the water and some banshee screaming! Did I fail to mention that Baby J loves his baths? Well, now that we got a non-lame bath tub. We thought that Baby J might like to swim (and I think eventually he will) since he loves his bath. I think the water was just too cold today.
Doesn't he just look so cute in his swim suit??
Oh and doesn't Baby J look so cute too?
Since we had our cousins & Aunt Char over today, here are some pictures of them too. Kiki started out really shy, but by the end of her swim time, she was jumping off the side of the pool to any adult (Char or Derek of course) that would catch her. Dunkle Erik spent a lot of time with her teaching her how to swim. I think they both had a lot of fun doing it.
Kiki loved to keep throwing the ball at anyone who would catch it. Jr kept telling everyone that he wanted to swim by himself. I think they both are very daring for 3 year olds, but each in their own ways. Did I mention these are my 2 favorite 3 year olds?
Here's a cute video of Kiki swimming with her Dunkle Erik. They make me smile.

  2. So fun! Looks like a perfect day too. Sorry Baby J cried through the experience, hopefully he'll figure out what he is missing out on soon!

  3. Jason looks adorable in his swimsuit! I have plenty of small swim diapers that I would love to share with you. Hannah doesn't love swimming yet either, so I'm sure she won't use up the whole pack.
