Slacker

Wow I have been SUCH a slacker lately! You'd think since all I do is stay home anymore that I'd have more time to do stuff like post on my blog, but amazingly I don't. I rarely even venture on to the internet anymore (with the exception of FB through my phone). I don't even get to watch good shows on TV. Hmm.

Things at our house have been relatively boring lately. Well, for the most part. We still have our nightly screaming, but mostly it only lasts from 8-11 pm.  Baby J is doing AMAZING. He's grown into a healthy little 1 month old.
He makes me so happy. I never knew how much one little kid could change my life. I'm beyond grateful to have him here. Even when he sneaks one of these in on me.

Derek has been nothing short of amazing with Baby J. He shares in taking care of Baby J, no matter what time of day or night it is. It's SOO nice to have someone I can completely rely on to help me. It makes all the struggles of having a new born manageable. He even let's me take a couple hour nap each morning! He also knows I'm a bear if I don't get very much sleep. I think he does this for his own health!
The past several years Derek & I have hiked up Timp for my birthday, but this year we couldn't do that, so I made do with a nice long walk up Provo Canyon's bike trail. It was fun, and Baby J did great! I anticipate us doing this a lot more over the rest of the summer. I even anticipate us going hiking on some of the trails up Timp once Baby J get's a little older (and I get a little more strength back and have a little, ok a lot, less fat).
When Baby J was born, Derek got a back pack to haul Baby J around in from my awesome mom. This was our first trip using it. Baby J loved it (and so did Derek)! Minus having the stroller to carry the water in, it was actually nice to not have all the extra stuff.
The one thing I noticed with the back pack, is that Baby J kinda lays there like a limp rag doll (you can see it in the picture above with Derek). But then as we were walking back I saw Derek doing this:
Sorry for the blurry picture. We were walking back & I had to take it while walking because Derek didn't know I was taking the picture.

I love my little family!

  1. Baby J is absolutely adorable! I'm so glad that he is healthy. I'm very impressed that you ventured out for that long walk. You look great! I love how happy you are to be Jason's mommy. And I love that last picture. :)
